Miss Kerry is an assistant teacher in our Sunflowers preschool classroom. We officially welcomed Kerry Bric to our faculty at Bloom in July 2014. Kerry first came to us in the summer of 2013, when she spent her free time volunteering at Bloom. She has such a calm demeanor; the children were immediately drawn to her. In addition to her soothing disposition, she has wonderful classroom instincts, knowing when and where help is needed. She was a welcome addition to the group whenever she volunteered her time. When a position became available at Bloom, she was eager to apply, and we were thrilled to offer her the position. Kerry has earned her Associate's degree in Early childhood Education.
Kerry is originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia. She and her family moved to Middletown when she was in middle school. She now resides in Newport with one of her triplet sisters (she is one of five children, also having two older brothers). Her interests include writing, poetry, music, and philanthropy.
Q & A with Kerry
What drew you to education?
I have always loved children. They have this innate curiosity and innocence that hasn't yet been molded by the outside world. I had several teachers, when I was growing up, that made a difference in my life, and I hope to someday do the same.
What do you hope to find at Bloom?
A warm, welcoming environment where children really flourish. I believe that every day is a learning experience for children and teachers alike. I like the "homey" feeling of Bloom and look forward to getting to know my colleagues, the children, and their families.
What do you love most about working with children?
I love seeing them succeed in something for the first time or really working hard to master something. The look on their face when they finally accomplish it makes all the difference.
